Emma Holliday lives in the North East and paints throughout the UK. Working predominantly in acrylics, her paintings are vibrant and expressive, capturing the vitality of a moment in time.
Holliday paints outside; usually kneeling on the ground with her board and paint box - it's very portable - she often cycles or walks to find the right spot. Working outside and directly from life, helps her to capture the look and feel of the landscape on that particular day. She enjoys the challenge of painting in all weathers and in different or unusual places. Holliday always paints from life, never from photographs. There is more to the paintings than the landscape or still life they show; the brushwork, colours and subject are an expression of the artist's emotion and contain elements of events and people in her life (past and present).
Emma Holliday and her work have been featured in Artists and Illustrator, Living North, The Crack, Culture Mag, The Journal and other publications. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally and at present she is showing in the North East and in Norfolk. Her paintings are in many private and public collections, including Newcastle upon Tyne University and The House of Lords.
